About Us

Azimex Fabrications Ltd has been at its present site since 1984. Originally established as Verity & Gardner in 1959 it was taken over by John Addison in 1984.

A family business, the Operations Director is Calum Addison who started in 2009 by serving his apprenticeship under the late Dave Leaver, Works Manager. Dave, a well-respected, skilled fabricator who had worked for the business from its inception. He passed on to Calum traditional metal working skills and knowledge which continue to inform his running of the business to this day. Sadly, Dave passed away just a few years into his retirement in October 2022.

Calum has extended his skill set in many directions including business, the completion of a 3-year program in electrical installation and training in the installation of air-source heat pumps. He is now responsible for all operations at Azimex Fabrications Ltd.

Jacobus Swanepoel joined the team in 2012 having trained as Boiler Maker from the age of 17 in South Africa and worked at Azimex for five years before returning to his homeland for three years. On his return to the UK Jacobus re-joined the company bringing his accuracy and flair to all aspects of metal fabrication and welding. His attention to detail is evident in all of his work.

The office side of the business is ably managed by Geoffrey Bates who has been with Azimex Fabrications since 1990. He has a wealth of commercial experience gained in a variety of settings.

Various projects are managed by Angela MacLeod who brings experience gained in running a recruitment agency, a retail fashion business and a career in communications training to Azimex Fabrications Ltd.
