At Azimex Fabrications, we work with sheet metal, which is metal formed into thin, flat pieces. Sheet metal is one of the essential forms of metal used in metalworking and fabrications today. The sheet metal we use can be cut and bent into an assortment of unique and customised shapes. We use the metal sheets to build a limitless number of everyday items such as lighting rigs, skirting boards, wall panels, exhausts, flooring, chairs and stools and much more. The thicknesses can vary considerably depending on your custom metal fabrication needs.

The thickness of sheet metal is called its gauge. The gauge of sheet metal ranges from 30 gauge to about 8 gauge. The higher the gauge, the thinner the metal is.

A variety of metals can be used as sheet metal, such as: Aluminium, brass, copper, galvanized steel and lead. These metals can be used for decoration, custom sheet metal designs and other variations of fabrications.

Sheet metal can be applied to everyday objects such as cars, tables, roofs, guttering, signs, mirrors, posts, trailers and many other things. History shows that sheet metal was also an important part of plate armour worn by cavalry and still used for this purpose to this day.
